Weekly Journal Exercise

In your journal:
Think of some of your favorite vacations. What did you enjoy most? Be as specific as you can. Look through your list and try to find ways to enjoy some of these things at home as well. For example, if you loved going out to eat, try to find a local place where you can enjoy the food just as much, or if you enjoy the long, beautiful walks, try to find a local place where you can enjoy a walk when the weather is nice. Find ways to make a night or day each month a mini vacation. If you can, try and find small ways to fit mini vacations into every week or even every day. Schedule your mini vacations and while you enjoy that special coffee or walk, be on vacation, forgetting about work and other worries while it lasts.

Weekly Journal Exercise

In your journal:
Each night this week, make a detailed list of everything you did during the day. Include everything from what you ate and errands to how you spent your time at work and what you did with the kids. Next to each item from your day, write down what goal it helped you reach. If any items actually worked against one of your goals, circle them and write down how they prevent you from reaching your goals.
