This Week's Journal Exercise

In Your Journal:
Who are you trying to impress?  What are you changing about yourself or doing to impress them?  Why do you feel this will impress them?  How do you feel they would react to the real you?  Why is it important to you to impress this person?  Who are the people in your life you don't feel you need to impress?  Who likes you just the way you are?

This Week's Journal Exercise

In your journal:

If you were to "be real" who would you be?  What would you do and say?  What parts of yourself have you changed to please others?

This Week's Journal Exercise

In your journal:

Think of some of your closest relationships. How do you tend to poke fun at and kid some of those closest to you? What are some of the things your friends kid you about? How do you respond? Why are you able to not take this personally? Now think of someone who kids you about something that tends to bother you? Why do you tend to take this personally or have a hard time keeping your sense of humor in this instance? For example, is there sense of humor off or a little too mean or is this an area where you are extra sensitive?

This Week's Journal Exercise

In your journal:
In what areas of your life do you have the hardest time letting people see that you are not perfect? In what areas do you tend to try to put on a front and not show others that you are unsure about something or have made a mistake or are not as good at something as you would like to be?
