This Week's Journal Exercise
In your journal:
What unrealistic expectations do you have for yourself? Think of an area where you are consistently frustrated or seem to fail. What are your expectations in this area? Are they realistic? What might be some more realistic expectations? If you feel your expectations for yourself are realistic in this area, write down why you feel you are not meeting these expectations. What might you be able to do to help yourself meet these expectations? Ask a few friends or relatives what expectations they have of themselves in this area? Do they feel your expectations are realistic? Do they run into similar problems meeting these expectations? How do they solve this?
